DIVISION THREE

OLD SCOTCH CC 9/116 (39.4)

def by. CAULFIELD/NCG 4/119 (24)

Polymear 35, Gunawardene 24, Anbalagan 1/9, Sparks 1/38

We hosted Caulfield Grammarians on a track where the toss proved to be critical. Unfortunately, we lost the toss and batted first in wet, blustery conditions where the track proved very tricky to score on. We managed to get to 9/116 and credit to Dave Polmear (35) and Santush Gunawardene (24) for withstanding an excellent Caulfield bowling attack and extremely difficult conditions. The heavens opened up just before the tea break only to clear for Caulfield to bat on a dry track. Caulfield went on the offensive and knocked off the target in only 24 of the allotted 39.4 overs. An excellent bowling performance from Paul Sparks who deserved greater rewards than 1/38 off 8 eight overs. Paul’s never say die attitude was inspirational to the team.

On to the Christmas break, licking our wounds in preparation for 2022.
